About This Opportunity

Latvia's State Scholarship, administered by the State Education Development Agency (VIAA), supports international students and researchers to undertake study or research stays at Latvian higher education institutions. The programme is open to applicants from countries with active bilateral agreements with Latvia and is available at Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral levels, as well as for research visits.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizen of a country with a bilateral educational agreement with Latvia — confirm Ghana's eligibility through viaa.gov.lv or the Latvian Embassy
  • Must have a confirmed host institution or supervisor in Latvia
  • Applications submitted through the VIAA online system with supporting documentation

What You Get / Benefits

  • Monthly stipend of €130 for Bachelor's students, €200 for Master's students, and €500 for PhD students and researchers
