The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship programs for African youth. It partners with leading universities across Africa, North America, and beyond to provide fully funded education to talented young Africans who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to giving back to their communities.
What Is Covered
This is a fully funded scholarship. It covers:
- Full tuition fees for the duration of your program
- Monthly living stipend
- Round-trip airfare to your university
- Health insurance
- Academic support and mentorship
- Leadership development programming
- Alumni network access post-graduation
Eligibility Requirements
- African citizen (all 54 countries)
- Demonstrated academic excellence (strong secondary school results)
- Financial need — from economically disadvantaged backgrounds
- Demonstrated leadership and commitment to community development
- For undergraduate: applying to a partner university
- For postgraduate: bachelor's degree holder with strong academic record
