About This Opportunity

The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully-funded postgraduate award enabling talented young people from around the world to study full-time at the University of Oxford. It is merit-based, developed to build public-spirited leaders and promote international understanding through a global community of Scholars. Ghana falls under the West Africa constituency, which awards 3 scholarships annually across 18 eligible countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and others.

Rhodes Scholars come to the UK for two or more years and can study nearly any full-time postgraduate course offered at Oxford.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizen or resident of an eligible West Africa constituency country (including Ghana)
  • Outstanding academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to public service
  • Meets Oxford's postgraduate admission requirements for your chosen course

What You Get

  • Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in Abuja, Accra, or Lagos in November 2026 (travel and accommodation provided)
  • Scholar-elects are announced shortly after interviews; outcomes emailed to all applicants by December 2026
