About This Opportunity

MEST Africa's AI Startup Program is a fully immersive, up to 12-month experience designed to equip Africa's most promising AI entrepreneurs with the skills, mentorship, and structure to build globally competitive startups. Now in its second cohort (Class of 2027), the program takes participants from idea stage through to a fully deployable, investment-ready product. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is strongly advised.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Aspiring AI entrepreneur or software developer based anywhere in Africa
  • Serious about building a high-impact, scalable startup
  • No finished product required — drive and vision are what matter

    • Apply as early as possible — rolling review means strong candidates can be selected before the deadline closes.
    • You do not need a finished product. Focus your application on the problem you want to solve, why it matters in Africa, and why you are the right person to solve it.
    • Highlight any technical background (coding, AI/ML, data) alongside your entrepreneurial thinking — MEST values both.
