About This Opportunity

AngloGold Ashanti is hiring an Underground Mine Geologist at its Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in Western Australia, a role at the heart of one of the most geologically complex underground gold operations in the state. You will report to the Senior Mine Geologist and work in a close-knit, supportive team.

What You Will Do

  • Map underground development drives and assess them for ore and waste
  • Coordinate with geology and mining teams to deliver the mine plan on time
  • Report on daily, weekly and monthly production against schedule
  • Update orebody domains using mapping and drilling data
  • Manage drill samples and QAQC of assay results
  • Contribute to drill database management, mine-to-mill reconciliation and material tracking
  • Manage reverse circulation drilling, from scheduling and design to implementation
  • Help grade control geologists build high-quality models using conditional simulation
  • Train graduate geologists
  • Work safely at all times and follow all safety instructions and procedures

Eligibility Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Geology
  • 2 years of mine geology experience and comfort in underground environments
  • A strong sense of safety and a thorough understanding of the mining cycle
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A current C class manual driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
